LEWISVILLE, TEXAS, (March 31, 2020) Ophthalmic lens technology leader and ALLY of the ECP, HOYA Vision Care, is honored to support the local efforts of eye care providers.
Doctors Alireza and Sana Somji, a husband and wife Optometric team that practice at Horizon Eye Care & Optical in Sugar Land, TX, were looking for a way to support their community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their plan was to supply protective eyewear to volunteers and first responders on the Sugar Land community at their own expense. Dr. Somji stated, “We wanted to do something for the community at this time by using our expertise and resources to do our part.”
The doctors called Hoya to acquire the Protective Safety Glasses and to their surprise Hoya donated all 500 pairs free of charge. Patrick McCarthy, Senior Director of U.S. Commercial Operations stated, “It’s on Hoya.”
